Trainers

Joey Bellus

I have been a certified personal trainer for 6 years. Prior to launching Optimal Performance Training I worked as a personal trainer at 24 hour fitness for four years. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science & Wellness. I pride myself in what my passion is in life; helping people to obtain a better quality of life through heatlh and fitness. I have over 5000 hours of training and have helped numerous people improve their quality of life through weight loss, injury rehabilitation, strength training, sports performance, flexibility & core stability or simply overall fitness capacity.
I sepreate myself from other trainers in the industry by not only providing my clients with proper program design, but by educating and teaching them how to reach their goals and how to maintain their desired accomplishments. I am enthusiastic, motivated, caring, driven, educated, creative and perhaps the most passionate trainer you may ever find. I can honestly say that I am one of the top trainers in the industry without a doubt.

I am a true believer that "your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment".
After graduating from Wabash College in 2008, I was given the opportunity to be the hitting coach and assistant strength and conditioning coordinator for the Little Giant baseball team.
In the summer of 2008 I was given the opportunity to earn a roster spot for the Philidelphia Phillies Spring Training team. After falling short on that opportunity, I was blessed with mindset that I could give more to the patrons of baseball and fitness by teaching it rather than playing it. I share the same mentality with fitness and athletic enhancement.
As a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, I am able to transmit my knowledge of fitness to anyone and everyone willing to listen. I have worked with a diverse group of skill levels and skill goals, from paralysis patients, weight loss, injury rehab to high level collegiate athletes, all with the same goal in mind, to reach and conquer their optimal abilites.

For me, fitness and athletics have always been more than a passion—-it’s a lifestyle. I am currently involved with coaching athletes of all sports and ages, elementary to professional level. I have been involved with training for the past 4 years. I am focused and take pride in learning more about fitness while helping young athletes make the most of their abilities. As a former multi-sport athlete, I understand that sports as well as everyday life take a huge toll on the body. While I continue my education through exercise science and wellness, I have been privileged with the opportunity to study under some of the most highly touted professionals in the Arizona fitness industry and have achieved a national certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
